This morning my son slid off the bed and banged his mouth. There was blood and much tears. Stephen did not want anything to do with me. I wanted to comfort him, but nooo; “I want Mommy”.
Then Kathy said something that just nailed it:
Dads are just for Fun
Ok, so this a complete and utter over simplification. Yet it is true. I am fun; I run around like a lunatic, spin around, jump, throw, fall down and make stupid sounds – all with or without my son.
Hmmm, will I also be fun to my Daughter? or might she call me when she is hurt
and Dads are just for Fun
16 MarFreedom Day & the Freedom of a Child
29 AprMonday, the 27th April; Freedom Day – The day that celebrates the first post-apartheid elections held in South Africa.
Also it is becoming increasingly obvious that Stephen is trying to be free himself; in any way that he so chooses. It just so happens that when I just want a certain photograph he chooses not to comply,
ha ha ha.
Anyway, as Stephen starts testing the boundaries of free will and Daddy’s patience, he is learning to be independent with he very own personality. It is also a time where I need to be there to help him – and I am, I am enjoying it all the way (ok I do get frustrated – who doesn’t).
Here are some cool pictures we took on this day.
