Stephen’s First Donkey Ride

21 Jun

1606200916062009(001)
While on Holiday at Club Mykonos last week Stephen had an opportunity to ride Chester the Donkey. Without any reservations Stephen was happy to be plonked onto Chester for most of the ride. I on the other hand had my heart leaping every so often whenever he happened to shift in the seat. I was ready to dive and catch a split second before any fall.
If I ask Stephen now about Chester he makes two clicking sounds, interesting.

Thanks Stephen for my gift; a cool mug and some tasty biltong (the package says Beef Snapsticks – I say: Spare me, it’s biltong)

Heart Wrenching

20 Jun

Kathy showed me this video of a family whose child; Eliot, was born with a hole in the heart, an underdeveloped lung, and DNA that placed faulty information into each and every cell of his body.
You can see more about Eliot here ninetynineballoons.
I was just so moved by the story because of how God was still Glorified in spite of the ordeal.

Stephen and the Guitar Part One

15 Jun

Whether or not Stephen has any musical talent, he never the less loves music to the very fiber of his being. Here is a testament to that. We where listening to a CD when Stephen started his ‘Guitar Solo’. I think he might have learned this from our Worship band at Church. In fact he was dancing this week during the second service when he let out a loud ‘Wooooo’ at the end of the song – you know – when there is a bit of silence. We had to say ‘Shhhh’ which was the wrong this to do cos her spent the next while saying ‘shhhhhh’ to everyone ha ha ha.

Learning to Flirt

9 Jun

flirt
This kid of mine, where did he learn this from; I mean just out of the blue he starts this cute head tilt which is so like a flirt. When Kathy saw it for the first time she did not know what to do but laugh. Now you ask Stephen; “Show me the Flirty Face”. and he does it. ha ha ha

Potty Training has begun

8 Jun

DSC07847
Today I picked up Stephen just before putting him in the bath and sat him on the toilet. This I have tried a few times, sometimes at his request, yes at Stephen’s request – which is a series of grunts, pointing and tugging at pants. Stephen quite quickly had a pee while watching in complete fascination. Also he had to flush as well – Stephen always has to flush 🙂 that and use some toilet paper; which he always makes an effort to blow his nose with first.
Lovely stuff.
So now Kathy is doing research as to the best was to potty train a toddler properly. We have one of those things that you put over the toilet that sort of makes the ‘hole’ smaller, but I think that we need something smaller.
Fortunately I have a son that wants to copy pretty much everything I do. Well that can be a bit dangerous.
So has anyone got any pointers?
Much Appreciated 🙂
